Add a bar of soap to your car’s emergency kit.
If your gas tank ever springs a (small) leak, rub the bar of soap vigorously over the hole to plug it and prevent yourself from getting stranded with no gas in your tank. You'll be able to make it far enough to get your tank repaired properly.
